Nuclear shape determination: the effect of density-dependent interactions
Description
The extent to which Satchler's theorem breaks down when density-dependent folding interactions are considered has been investigated. This has several important implications for the analysis of inelastic scattering in terms of nuclear shapes and possibly for the interpretation of Strutinsky model calculations. A specific experiment to test for the existence of effects described here is suggested. (author)
