Factors effecting the histamine content change in mice intestine after γ-irradiation

  • 1. Academy of Military Medical Sciences (PLA), Beijing, BJ (China). Inst. of Radiation Medicine

Description

The weight, histamine content and histidine decavloxylase (HDCO) activity of murine intestine after 15Gy γ-rays exposure were studied. It was found that after irradiation the intestinal wieght gradually decreased, the HDCO activity significantly increased and the histamine content markedly increased. Based on these results it was concluded that the increase of histamine content after exposure was partly due to weight loss of intestine caused by denudation of mucosal layer and significant increase of HDCO activity
