Numerical solution of eigenvalue systems of second order differential equations by the matching model

Description

A method for solving numerically eigenvalue systems of second order differential equations is presented. This method is a result of an interplay of the matching method and the linear multistep methods for the solution of the system as well as for the derivative of that solution. An analysis and control of the errors envolved in the method is also presented

Abstract (Portuguese)

Apresenta-se um metodo para a solucao numerica do problema a autovalores para um sistema de equacoes diferenciais de segunda ordem. Esse metodo resulta de uma combinacao do metodo do 'match' com os metodos lineares a k-passos e fornece tanto a solucao do sistema como sua derivada. Apresenta-se tambem uma analise e um controle dos erros envolvidos no metodo
