Radiation protection in interventional radiology

Description
The effects of large skin doses in patients subjected to interventional practices are considered and the means of lowering these doses are considered. Important points of the recommendations forwarded by some health organizations are referred. Education of personnel appointed to act in interventional radiology together with the technological advances are considered the factors that would minimise patient irradiation in this type of practices. Perspectives of occupational exposure are also considered. (author)
