Rutherford backscattering, Coulomb excitation, and X-ray production studied in channeling conditions
- 1. Institute of Nuclear Physics, Krakow (Poland)
Description
Results on the experimental investigation of proton channeling in tungsten monocrystals by detection of backscattered protons and by detection of γ-rays and X-rays are presented. The analysis of the energy spectra of backscattered protons and of γ-ray yields produces the random and channeled stopping power. The averaged ratio β0 of channeled to random stopping power in the <111> channel is determined to be 0.447 ± 0.005, whereas the β0 value for well-channeled protons is approximately 0.37. (author)
