The viability of the KIa procedure for predicting crack arrest under displacement controlled loadings
Creators
- 1. Manchester Univ. and University of Manchester Inst. of Science and Technology (UK). Joint Dept. of Metallurgy and Materials Science
Description
The paper extends the earlier work to the case where fixed displacements are applied to the faces of a crack. It is shown that procedure can seriously underpredict the crack jump length, and the results are therefore in sharp contrast to those for the fixed load situation. (orig./HP)
