Effect of advanced design features of 16 X 16 STD on Kori-2 Fuel Management

Description

Westinghouse STD fuel was loaded as a full core reload from cycle 10. However, the STD fuel is the old generation FA and the economic competition is thus poor relative to the new generation FA such as KNFC 17 X 17 design. Work has been performed to see the effect of advanced design features of 16 X 16 fuel bundle design on Kori-2 fuel management. This effort was performed by updating the existing 16 X 16 bundle design to current standards such as KNFC 17 X 17 design. Key advanced design features of 16 X 16 bundle are the advanced and the proven 17 X 17 design feature technology. The technical effect of the above advanced design features is described below. The fuel cycle cost of the advanced design features was quantitatively evaluated by comparing the current fuel management scheme data with the new data obtained with the advanced design features of 16 X 16 bundle
