Description
This is the summary paper of the close of the Conference on Nuclear Power Performance and Safety. On the basis of the Conference presentations, the authors summarize the trends in the need for nuclear power in different countries, the questions of its economics, performance and reliability. The interrelationships between safety, economics and performance are also discussed. A separate chapter is devoted to the nuclear situation in the USA, in developing countries and to the role of the IAEA in this matter
