Description

The production of photons in heavy ion collisions is considered. As their experience only the weak and electromagnetic interactions, they transmit an undistorted view of the collision zone. The goal of the present work is to measure the extent of this zone. This is done in an interferometry experiment where photons emitted from a chaotic source generate a correlation pattern related to the source size. (K.A.) 6 refs., 7 figs
