Risk communication in energy issues. The difference of explicitly presenting two-sided messages (Preliminary study)

In this paper, we examine the difference of the explicitly presenting two-sided messages. The clarification of the explicitly presenting two-sided messages means that both positive and negative information is visually presented in the story of the presentation topic, and that the sender and receiver share the information and leave an impression on each other. We conducted an experimental investigation with the explicitly presenting two-sided messages as the experiment conditions. The results of the study confirmed that the explicitly presenting two-sided messages has the effect of improving risk communication. The results confirmed that there was a significant difference in the neutrality and impartiality of the information. The sender and receiver confirmed and shared risk information as they proceeded with the dialogue, and significant differences were also found in the receiver's impression of the sender and evaluation of the sender's attitude toward the dialogue, such as "cheerfulness", "favorability", "ease of listening", "speaking in one's own words", "respect for opinions", and "sincerity". The implementation of the explicitly presenting two-sided messages has a positive effect on the sender's impression. We believe that the clear presentation of the explicitly presenting two-sided messages is an indispensable social technique in risk communication. (author)
