Description
Theoretical uncertainties of the method of Pais and Treiman to measure the ππ phase shifts in Ke4 decays are estimated. It has been found that they are very small, below 1%. Newly planned experiments like KLOE at DAΦNE, will hopefully be able to reduce the errors sizeably enough to decide between the theoretical alternatives. In view of this improvement on the experimental side, it is worth to check what kind of uncertainties affect the Pais-Treiman method from the theoretical point of view. (authors). 12 refs., 1 fig
