Use of microprogrammed outposts in radioprotection
Description
Radioprotection networks around nuclear plants have so far only supplied data concerning dose equivalent rates. The use of radiation detectors delivering dose equivalent quanta combined with a system based on minicomputers yields additional information: dose equivalents per day, per month ...; dose equivalent rates expressed in LMA or CMA; threshold determinations; data transfer to signal boxes. By the use of suitable terminals it is also possible to dialogue with the computer. To offset certain disadvantages of this system the digital treatment of quantified data is no longer performed centrally by the computer but locally in a processing box equipped with a microprocessor. The alarm and signalling thresholds are set directly in the local box. The computer then only serves for dose cumulation and management of the different terminals ... This paper describes the detectors and processing box and shows the advantage of this set-up
Abstract (French)
Jusqu'a ce jour les reseaux de radioprotection autour des installations nucleaires ne fournissent que des informations concernant les debits d'equivalent de dose. La mise en oeuvre de detecteurs de rayonnements delivrant les quantas d'equivalents de dose et d'un systeme a base de minicalculateur permet d'obtenir plus de renseigenements: equivalents de dose par jour, mois...; debits equivalents de dose exprimes en LMA ou CMA; determination de seuils; transfert d'information aux coffrets de signalisation. L'utilisation de peripheriques adaptes permet egalement le dialogue avec le calculateur. Pour pallier certains inconvenients de ce systeme, le traitement numerique des informations quantifiees n'est plus effectue en central par le calculateur, mais localement dans un coffret de traitement equipe d'un microprocesseur. Les seuils d'alarme et de signalisation sont elabores directement dans le coffret local. Le calculateur n'a plus qu'un role de cumul de dose et de gestion des differents peripheriques... La communication se propose de decrire les detecteurs et le coffre de traitement, et de demontrer l'avantage de cette configurationAdditional details
