Description
We report on a comprehensive study of scattering of hydrogen ions on vibrationally excited hydrogen molecules in the range of center of mass energies 0.6-9.5 eV. The reported charge transfer processes, including nuclear particle exchange, have been calculated using a fully-quantal, coupled channel approach. An extensive vibrational basis set on the relevant two-state electronic surfaces was employed, with inclusion of vibrational continua, while the rotational dynamics of H2 was treated within the sudden approximation
