The behaviour of fission-product barium and strontium in irradiated UO2
Creators

Description
Some observations on the disposition of barium and strontium fission products in the UO2 kernels of irradiated HTR fuel particles are reported. The particles were examined by electron-probe microanalysis (EPMA) and by a nod-dispersive X-ray analysing attachment to a scanning electron microscope (NDA). In the fuel-temperature range 1200-17000C it is found that there is a marked difference in the behaviour of barium and strontium in UO2. (Auth.)
