Description

This brief review about energetic displacement cascades in metals consists of two parts. In the first part the basic facts about the formation of displacement cascades are collected and the important damage processes in cascades (collision cascades, spikes, replacement collision sequences) are summarized. The second part describes recent transmission electron microscope observations of damage produced by displacement cascades and their significance for the various cascade damage processes
