Nuclear power plant life extension in the USSR and a number of East European countries

  • 1. Joint Venture on Decommissioning NPPs, Moscow (USSR)

Description

At the present phase of nuclear power development plant life extension may become reasonable compromise between new plant construction and decommissioning of NPP units. The task of NPP life extension involves new requirements to plant design and operation quality. For a number of East European countries, e.g. Czecho-Slovakia and the USSR, NPPU life extension is regarded as promising trend. The actual technical and other problems of NPP and NPPU life extension are under discussion. (author)
