A study on the creep behavior of AISI 304 stainless steel at high temperature
Description
The creep mechanism of AISI 304 stainless steel was studied under the stress of 25kg/mm2-37.5kg/mm2 at 600-750degC. Stress exponents, n values, were 5.6, 5.3, 5.1 at 600degC, 670degC, 730degC respectively and decreased with increasing temperature. Activation energy for creep was 73kcal/mole under 17.5kg/mm2, 71kcal/mole under 22.5kg/mm2. At 600degC, 25-37.5kg/mm2, irregular primary creep of sigmoidal type was resulted. Dislocation climb theory predominated on the stage of steady state creep. (Author)
