Description
Following an explanation of the physical fundamentals of the shielding diagrams, examples for shielding materials as well as measurements of the connection times of X-ray equipment are given. Furthermore, important terms such as load equivalent, penetration factor, residence factor, dose rate constants and highest permissible local dose are dealt with. By means of application cases frequently occuring in practice, the determination of shielding is illustrated with the help of tables. Finally, X-ray protective clothing and special shielding systems are described. (ORU/LH)
Abstract (German)
Nach Erlaeuterung der physikalischen Grundlagen der Abschirmungsdiagramme werden Beispiele fuer Abschirmmaterialien sowie Bemessungen der Einschaltzeiten von Roentgeneinrichtungen angegeben. Des weiteren wird kurz auf wichtige Begriffe wie Bleigleichwert, Durchlassfaktor, Aufenthaltsfaktor, Dosisleistungskonstante und hoechstzulaessige Ortsdosis eingegangen. Anhand von in der Praxis haeufig vorkommenden Anwendungsfaellen wird die Bestimmung von Abschirmungen mit Hilfe von Tabellen aufgezeigt. Abschliessend werden Roentgenschutzkleidung sowie spezielle Abschirmungseinrichtungen beschrieben. (ORU)Additional details
