Hot forming. Pt.III. Microstructural changes and after forming

Description

A brief description is given of the microstructural changes which take place: 1) during hot forming itself and 2) after such forming. The static recrystallization kinetics of hot formed microstructures is examined and some analytical formulae are obtained which link the fraction of recrystallized material and its grain size -for a given time range- to the process and original grain size parameters. Finally, the application of the foregoing equations to a grain size study on mild steel during hot rollings is illustrated. (author)
