Resonance Raman scattering and exciton-phonon interactions in CuInS2

  • 1. Chung-Ang University, Seoul (Korea, Republic of)

Description

Photoluminescence(PL) and resonance Raman scattering from CuInS2 single crystals grown by using the horizontal Bridgman method were investigated. One sharp free A exciton peak and two broadband D-A pair emission peaks were observed. Six resonant Raman peaks assigned to E2, an overlap of B22 and E3, A1, E4, an overlap of B23 and E5, and the two-phonon mode of 2B21 were observed. The dependences of the Raman cross-sections of the one-phonon modes for the B2 and the E modes on the excitation photon energy were also investigated. Two Raman cross-section enhancements were observed. The one at 1.537 eV and the other at 1.554 eV were due to outgoing resonances with the lowest energy free A, and B and C excitons, respectively.
