Description
Palladium complexes of S and Se-based ligands have been recognized as moisture-insensitive, airstable, and efficient catalysts. However, palladium catalysts derived from thiolate ligands have rarely been reported for Csp-Csp2 cross-coupling reaction, particularly for decarboxylative Sonogashira cross-coupling reaction. Xantphos coordinated palladium dithiolates were explored as efficient catalysts for decarboxylative Sonogashira coupling of propiolic acid and aryl iodides. Complexes were characterized by NMR spectroscopy and CHNS analysis. The catalyst could be recycled up to the sixth recycle with marginal reduction in the product yields. The in-situ generated palladium nanoparticles (PdNPs) in latter recycles (3rd, 6th) were characterized by PXRD, SEM and HR-TEM microscopy techniques
