Improvements in or relating to the organisation of data for display

An invention for use in the processing of cross-sectional X-ray data from computerized axial tomographic apparatus is described in detail. The system processes the two dimensional representations of the cross-sections of the patient to provide 'shadowgram' pictures (i.e. a conventional form of X-ray picture showing in shadow all parts of the body absorbing X-rays). The apparatus includes storage means for receiving data signals, a display monitor and electronic circuitry to permit co-ordinate transformation to enable the operator to view the body cross-section from an alternative angle.
