Considerations about the efficiency estimates of hydroelectric power plants in Romania

Considering the provisions within the strategy for increasing the electricity generation during the next 10 years, the present state of worldwide and domestic hydroelectric power potential capitalization, some suggestions are formulated with the view of improving the present methodology of economic efficiency calculation for the existing hydroelectric power plants and for those to be built or planned. The paper also stresses the requirements of national regulations concerning hydroelectric power management when calculating the economic efficiency of these objectives of public use. (author)
