Results of Bohunice V1 NPP gradual upgrading. Siemens tasks and activities during gradual upgrading
Description
The gradual upgrading of NPP V1 Bohunice constitutes the most extensive reconstruction project to be performed in an operational VVER plant to date. It constitutes a milestone in Siemens co-operation on projects for VVERs to date and is an encouraging example for the successful combination of western and eastern safety cultures. During the runtime of this project Siemens learnt very much about the 'complete function' as well as the details of this VVER plant type. In contrast the Slovakian partners really gained a much better understanding for the western approach to ensure safety, for the most modern safety technology, in particular for Instrumentation and Control, and last but not least for advanced project management.
