Description

The mechanical properties of the new zirconium based alloy (EXCEL alloy) designed for the CANDU-PHW nuclear reactor purposes are described. They have been measured in the temperature range 300-1375 K covering the usual working temperatures as well as suspected temperature overheating range. The later case concerns the loss of coolant. The mechanical properties of investigated alloy have been found better than those of an other zirconium alloys used previously. 8 figs., 2 tabs., 36 refs. (author)
