Burnable poison rods
Description
Purpose: To prevent external leakage of tritium upon occurrence of fuel can ruptures. Constitution: Block or flake-shaped tritium capturing materials are contained and disposed within the plenum at the position of plenum coil springs. The capturing materials usable herein comprise elemental metal selected from the group consisting of Ti, Zr, Nb, Ta, Cr, Mo, W, Fe, Co, Ni, Rh, Pb, Pt, etc. or the alloy thereof either singly or in admixture.
