Radiation-introduced formation of colour centers in alexandrite crystals

Description
Results of formation of color centers in alexandrite, irradiated by X-rays and gamma quanta, are presented for the first time. Possible nature of these centers, mechanisms of energy transfer, photo- and thermal stability are discussed
