OPG plans for new nuclear at Darlington and SMRs for mineral extraction & remote communities
Description
This paper describes the first off-grid small modular reactor project in Canada. It is a joint partnership between Ontario Power Generation (OPG) and Ultra Safe nuclear Corporation (USNC). It provides a clean reliable energy solution for heavy industry, remote communities and oil sands and it will showcase advanced technology from USNC. Licence application has been submitted and environmental assessment is underway. This project will help solve climate change.
