Studies on characterization of l, 3, 4-oxadiazole derivative as metal ion sensor

  • 1. UC and PC Department of Physics, Karnataka Science College, Dharwad (India)

Description

A newly synthesised l, 3, 4-oxadizaole derivative(TTO) is characterized as highly selective and sensitive fluorescent chemosensor for detection of Fe2+, Cu2+ and Ni2+ metal ions using theoretical and experimental techniques. The competitive metal ion experimental results revealed that chemosensor is highly selective for recognizing Fe2+, Cu2+ and NP2+ ions without the interference of other metal ions. Detection limit of chemosensor for all targeted metal ions is in the range of 0.5-3μM. (author)
