Production of metal single crystals and growth parameters effect

Description
Metal of single crystals are necessary for many applications; Such as solid-state electronic components (transistors), metallurgy and metal forming. The quality of single crystals is dependent to a great extent on the process and parameters employed for their production. In this paper different methods for producing single crystals of various materials have been introduced and the effect of certain growth parameters have been determined. Results show that the production of long and thin single crystal strips of homogeneous electrical properties and uniform dislocation distribution is possible. These single crystal strips satisfy the requirements of their application and simplify the apparatus and automation of their production. (author)
