Description

A review is presented of a series of electron spectroscopic measurements investigating the surface properties of aluminum by its interaction with molecular oxygen. The studies performed at the Stanford Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory have used the unique properties of synchrotron radiation. The tunability of the excitation source in the spectral range 30-700 eV has made it possible to obtain maximum surface sensitivity and measure core-level photoabsorption. (Auth.)
