Orientation of atoms by beam-solid surface interaction
Description
The partial elliptical polarization of light emitted from solid surface scattered ion beams has been measured. Comparison is made with a 800-tilted foil experiment. The results indicate similarities for the excitation mechanism in both cases. (Auth.)
