Three-jet decays of neutral vector Z-bosons
Description
We have obtained the angular and energy distributions of the hadron jets in the decays of the Z-boson into a quark-antiquark pair and a gluon, Z → q+q-bar+g, where q is a quark, and g is a gluon. If the polarization of the Z-boson is taken into account, our formulas can be applied to the discussion of the corresponding distributions of the decay products of the Z-boson in concrete reactions in colliding e+e- beams or in hadron collisions. We have analyzed the energy and angular distributions of a single jet in the decay Z → q+q-bar+g. If only the gluon jet is detected, then odd-P effects in the decay process must vanish in our approximation; if, on the other hand, only quark (or antiquark) jet is detected, then odd-P effects must be present
