The demonstration of the efficacy and safety of hyperthermia treatments through multiinstitutional clinical trials mandates that the treatment procedures and data be of uniformly high quality at all participating institutions. A component of the verification of this requirement is the physical evaluation of hyperthermia systems used for treatment.
