Description
The Boltzmann-Fokker-Planck model for fast ion transport in hot dense plasmas has been developed. The model is capable of accounting for Coulomb scattering, nuclear elastic plus interference scattering (NES) and, eventually, suprathermal fusion as slowing-down mechanism. Numerical results are given for a particular example problem, i.e., the deposition of 14.7 MeV proton energy in a deuterium plasma sphere. In this paper it is shown that NES plays a significant role in the energy deposition
