Ionizing radiation effect upon magnetic properties of ferrite-garnet films
- 1. AN Latvijskoj SSR, Riga (USSR). Inst. Fiziki
Description
The Curie temperature, the field of collapse and the constant of anisotropy have been shown not to change under the fast neutron irradiation with the fluence of 10 17 cm-2. Only the fluence of more than 1018 cm-2 induces some changes of magnetic and structural properties. Irradiation with the 7 MeV electrons by the fluence of 1017 cm-2 has no effect upon the Curie temperature and the constant of anisotropy, but it causes the saturation magnetization increase up to 10%. The results obtained are explained in terms of point and complex radiation defect formation and ionization processes
