Pion structure functions from lattice QCD

Description
We compute <χ> and <χ2> of the valence quarks in a pion, on the lattice using Wilson fermions in the quenched approximation. We find <χ> = 0.49 ± 0.08 and <χ2> = 0.20 ± 0.08 at a scale μ ≅ 7 GeV, in good agreement with experimental data. (orig.)
