Oxygen-16 induced fission of 209Bi at 89.5 MeV

Description
Oxygen-16 induced fission studies of 209Bi have been carried out at particle energies of 89.5 MeV using gamma ray spectrometry. The cross sections for the production of fission products have been determined. The yield distribution of fission products has been found to be broad (FWHM ≅ mass units) with a peak near mass ≅ 108. The charge distribution in the 16O ion induced fission of 209Bi has also been studied at particle energy of 89.5 MeV. The relative cumulative yields of 92Sr, 97Zr, 99Mo, 101Mo, 112Pd and 117mCd have been determined using gamma ray spectrometry. The width of charge distribution has been found to be broad. (orig.)
