Exclusive studies of GDR in excited nuclei

  • 1. Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai (India)

Description

The giant dipole resonance (GDR) built on highly excited states of compound nuclei produced in heavy ion fusion reactions has been used to study nuclear properties at high temperature. The present paper aims to give a brief review of the current status of the field. Results from the recent work at Argonne National Laboratory are presented. Plans for future work at pelletron are also discussed
