Phase eqilibria in alloys of W-Fe-Co-Ni system

Description

Phase equilibria are studied in the W-Fe-Co-Ni system. Polythermal sections are plotted for the W-Fe-Ni with 10% (Fe+Ni) and for the W-Fe-Ni system with 10% (Fe+Co+Ni) and Fe:Co=1:1. Projection of the solidus surface and phase diagrams at 1400 and 1200 deg C are constructed for a primary section of the W-Fe-Co-Ni tetrahedron with 10% (Fe+Co+Ni). Isostructural phases of Fe7W6 and Co7W6 in the W-Fe/Co system form continuous series of solid μ-solutions. When crystallization is over and at 1400-1200 deg C the alloys consist either of two (α+μ or α+γ) or three (+a+μ+γ) phases. In the alloys rich in iron and at the temperatures below 1215 deg C formation of the FeW phase instead of the μ-phase is possible
