Neutron activation analysis of detector components for BOREXINO

Description

The proposed solar neutrino experiment BOREXINO requires a high radiopurity of potential detector components. To select suitable materials very sensitive analysis methods have to be applied. In this article highly developed neutron activation analysis techniques are presented, which have been used to determine the potassium, thorium and uranium content of detector components. (orig.)
