Energetic investigations on the electrons of self-emission of radioactive materials

Description

To reveal the main features of energy distribution of electrons of radioactive electron emission (REE) where REE is self-emission of electrons from the surface of the radioactive substances flowing under the influence of radiation a piece of tantalum foil 0.2 mm thick, containing radioactive 182Ta was used as emitter. The investigations were carried out by electrostatic beta spectrometer at room temperature and 10-6 torr pressure. It has been experimentally determined that in the setting the summing go the absolute width of the setting line and half-width of natural distribution of REE electrons is realized according to the linear law. Energetic investigations have shown that in origin of REE one of the main roles belongs to the absorbed on the surface of the substance atoms and molecules. Electrons emitted into vacuum are determined by the features of electronic system, depending on adsorbent and adsorbate
