Handling of heavy loads in a salt repository
Description
A cask handling system must reduce personnel exposure to near zero for normal conditions, provide personnel exposure flexibility to meet off normal events, accommodate a variety of cask configurations, and maintain or improve system throughput. Diagrams of the following are included in this report: cask handling and unloading rooms at the repository, transfer cask handling area, transporting equipment, emplacement machines, and emplacement layouts
