Study of natural irradiation in dwelling places in France
- 1. CEA Centre d'Etudes Nucleaires de Fontenay-aux-Roses, 92 (France). Inst. de Protection et de Surete Nucleaire
Description
At the request of the Commission of European Communities, a natural irradiation study programme has been conducted in France over the last few years. The French study (started in 1981) has been developed covering two aspects of natural irradiation in dwellings, i.e. a) the measurement of the gamma radiation with thermoluminescent dosemeters (calcium sulphate) indoors, correlated with a measurement of the terrestrial radiation outdoors and b) the measurement of radon and radon daughters within the dwellings. The results of these measurements are presented. (author)
