Separation and concentration of elements from solutions by gas extraction

Description

The possibility to use the method of gas extraction and concentration of metal microamounts, beryllium and mercury for instance (7Be, 203Hg isotopes are used), from solutions and molten salts (CaCl2x6H2O) in the form of volatile intracomplexes with acetylacetone (AA), has been studied. The dependence of extraction degree (E) and coefficient of Be and Hg acetylacetonate distribution on various parameters of system: air - CaCl2 - H2O - AA - M, is considered. The value of E reaches the maximum in pH range 2.5-5.0 for Be and 4.0-4.5 for Hg at the temperature of 70 deg and AA concentration 0.2M. With the temperature increase from 50 to 90 deg E increases from 2 to 50% for Hg and from 80 to 85% for Be. 4 refs.; 2 figs
