Methodology for predicting critcal flaw sizes for the first wall of a fusion reactor
Description
Critical flaw sizes corresponding to crack penetration of the first wall are predicted using empirical equations developed for annealed stainless steel and linear elastic fracture mechanics for stainless steel exposed to a fluence of 7.7x1022 n/cm2 (E>14 MeV), the total fluence anticipated for INTOR. Additional work required is discussed. (orig.)
