Conversion coefficients for use in radiological protection against external radiation

This report summarises the work of a Joint Yash Group, appointed by the ICRP and ICRU, on dose-related quantities for radiological protection against external radiation established in 1991. The purpose of this report is to present conversion coefficients for protection and operational quantities and to examine their relationship. Conversion coefficients are produced for idealised irradiation geometries, monoenergetic radiations in various anthropomorphic models and measurement phantoms. The data are intended to provide the basis for comparison between the protection and operational quantities and to examine the impact of the new recommendations on these quantities. (UK)
