Patients aged over 70 years with a non metastatic bladder carcinoma: therapy modalities, prognosis and survival

The drastic cystectomy indications were rarer and the indications of fractionated schemes with or without planned interruption more frequent after 70 years. The local recurrences were more frequent in this aged population. This study highlights the need to optimize the radiotherapy protocols and promote research on systemic or targeted therapies allowing to maintain the dose intensity of the treatment with less toxicity, given the frequent alteration of renal function in patients over seventy years and observed the impact of local control on survival.
