Progress in standardizing the evaluation of contamination, ease of decontamination of surfaces and the effect of decontaminating agents on national and international levels

A progress report is given for the standard committees NKe 2.6 (Decontamination of surface), ISO/TC85/SC2/WG9 (Evaluation of contamination) and ISO/TC85/SC2/WG10 (Ease of decontamination). The NKe committee is developing a method of test allowing the evaluation of the efficiency of substances used in decontaminant solutions (including detergents). Furthermore the committee cooperates with ISO/TC83/SC2/WG10 in the development of an ISO standard 'Ease of decontamination'. ISO/TC85/SC2/WG10 has concentrated its efforts on testing a compromise method containing German and British contributions. Progress is made on the basis of international round robin experiments. ISO/TC85/SC2/WG9 has so far prepared a draft 'Evaluation of contamination' concerning β-emitters of Esub(β)sup(max) >= 0.15 MeV and α-emitters (nearly ready for voting). A similar draft proposal 'Evaluation of Tritium surface contamination' is in the state of having adopted a first group of comments from SC-2-members. The paper describes some important details of new standards and gives an outlook to future developments. (orig.)

Es wird der Stand der Arbeiten in den Normausschuessen NKe AA2.6 (Oberflaechendekontaminationsverfahren), ISO/TC85/SC2/WG9 (Evaluation of contamination) and ISO/TC85/SC2/WG10 (Ease of decontamination) beschrieben. Der NKe-Ausschuss bemueht sich um die Normung eines Pruefverfahrens, das die Bestimmung der Wirksamkeit von Dekontaminationsmitteln (incl. entsprechender Waschmittel) ermoeglichen soll. Daneben betreibt dieser Ausschuss die Verbesserung der Dekontaminierbarkeitsnorm DIN 25415, Teil 1 in Zusammenarbeit mit ISO/TC85/SC2/WG10. Dieser ISO-Ausschuss wiederum hat seine Arbeit auf die Pruefung einer Kompromissvorschrift mit deutschen und britischen Anteilen konzentriert und macht auf der Basis von internationalen Ringexperimenten Fortschritte. ISO/TC85/SC2/WG9 hat bisher ein fast abstimmungsreifes Papier 'Messung von Kontamination' erarbeitet, das sich auf β-Strahler mit Maximalenergien >= 0,15 MeV und α-Strahler bezieht. Ein entsprechender Entwurf zur Messung von Tritium-Oberflaechenkontamination beruecksichtigt bereits eine Gruppe erster Einsprueche aus den Kreisen der SC-2-Mitglieder. Der Beitrag beschreibt wichtige Teilaspekte, die sich aus diesen Normungsbemuehungen ergeben haben und macht Angaben ueber die zu erwartenden Entwicklungen auf den betreffenden Gebieten.
