Radon concentration in ground water over Hiroshima prefecture. 2. Measurement of radon concentration in ground water and hot springs

Description
Radon (222Rn) concentration in ground water including hot springs has been measured for 30 places over Hiroshima prefecture and two neighbouring places. Relations between the radon concentration and the geological map have been investigated. A new method of gamma-ray spectrometry has been applied for the radon measurement. Radon concentrations were ranged in 40-2000 Bq/l. It has been shown that the radon concentration in ground water is high in the Hiroshima granite area, especially those areas including faults. No correlations were observed between radon content and the depth of well or pH of the ground water. (author)
